The core purpose of Bachat AI is SMS-based money management. With your permission (READ_SMS and RECEIVE_SMS), the app reads messages on your device to detect:
All SMS reading and parsing happens on your device. Messages that are not financial (OTPs, personal chats, promotions) are ignored and never stored.
The app works without SMS permission too – you can add entries manually. Nothing in the app requires the permission except automatic detection.
Card and bank SMS often do not name who you paid. If you switch on Payment names from UPI apps (Android notification access), the app reads payment notifications from UPI apps only – such as PhonePe, Google Pay, Paytm, BHIM and Amazon Pay – to find the payee’s name and put it on the matching payment.

Each user can read and write only their own data. This is enforced by server-side security rules.
The app uses Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Messaging) to store your data and deliver notifications, Google Sign-In if you choose to back up with Google, and Google ML Kit text recognition, which runs entirely on your phone, to read photos you take. Google's handling of this infrastructure is governed by the Firebase Privacy and Security terms and the Google Privacy Policy.
Open the app → More → Delete all data. This permanently deletes all your transactions, reminders, bills, goals, cards, lending entries, vehicles and your account from our servers immediately. If you signed in with Google, you can also remove Bachat AI's access at myaccount.google.com/connections. You may also email us at the address above and we will delete your data within 7 days. Uninstalling the app removes all local data. Revoking SMS permission in Android settings stops all SMS reading instantly.
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and stored in Google Firebase with per-user access rules. No employee or third party has routine access to your records.
Bachat AI is intended for adults managing their own finances and is not directed at children under 18.
